Kuala Lumpur (IINA) – Malaysia's Prime Minister Najib Razak received here on Thursday Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque Ali Omar Abbasi, BERNAMA reported.
The meeting was also attended by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom, Tabung Haji chairman Azeez Abdul Rahim and Chief Imam of the National Mosque Sheikh Ismail Muhammad.
During the meeting, the imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque expressed his appreciation to the prime minister for his continuous efforts in defending Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque in the regional and international arena, referring to Najib's speech at the 70th session of the UN General Assembly in New York recently.
Abbasi said there were not many Muslim leaders who dared to raise the issue of Palestinians and openly condemn Israel's oppression as what Najib has been doing.
He also prayed for Malaysia to always be blessed with prosperity and for the prime minister to be able to face the challenges and to continue leading the country.
