Zagreb, (IINA) - The Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusic said on Tuesday that if Germany closes its border, Croatia will do the same, Croatian news site Dalje reported.
During a televised interview, Pusic said that “the moment Germany closes the border, everything else is closing as well, including Croatia’s border. Should Germany close the border, there will be a butterfly effect, namely Austria and Slovenia will close their borders too. In that case, Croatia will close the border”.
She noted that the policy of transit countries was to have a small number of migrants stay in the country while most of them are passing through, adding that if the said scenario takes place migrants would find themselves stuck in Croatia, which could only provide for up to 5,000 people.
She claims Croatia would let all those people pass through, adding that “this would truly have to be a joint effort by Austria, Slovenia, Germany, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece and definitely Turkey”.
Finally, Pusic urged Hungary to reopen its borders and help the European Union by allowing migrants to pass through.
