Jeddah, (IINA) - Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Iyad Madani had a meeting on Wednesday with the Ambassador of the Republic of Burkina Faso to Saudi Arabia Ountana Mansa, who visited him at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah.
Ambassador Ountana briefed the Secretary General on the progress of the transition in Burkina Faso and the general situation of the country after the coup attempt by a section of the military. He stated that the situation in the country has returned to normal, and the transitional process is on course. He also assured that the presidential election will be held on November 29.
On his part, the Secretary General expressed the full support and solidarity of the OIC to the transitional process in Burkina Faso. He also urged all stakeholders to cooperate towards a successful conclusion to the transition.
