Gaza (IINA) – The second batch of Gaza pilgrims left the besieged enclave on Tuesday morning through Egypt's Rafah border crossing heading to Makkah to perform Hajj pilgrimage this year.
Palestinian Deputy Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Gaza Dr Hassan El-Safi said earlier in the day in a press statement that "some 798 Palestinian pilgrims from the Gaza Strip are due to leave for Makkah via Rafah crossing to perform the Hajj pilgrimage."
It is noteworthy that the Egyptian authorities on Sunday decided to open the Rafah border crossing for three days starting from Monday to allow Gaza pilgrims to leave for Saudi Arabia.
