Saudi work ban under sun will be over Tuesday

Riyadh, (IINA) - The Saudi Ministry of Labor on Monday announced that Tuesday is the last day for a ban on outdoor work under sun, the Saudi Press Agency reported reported.
The ban which was implemented on June 15, orders Saudi businesses to stop sending employees to work under direct sun rays from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Dr. Abdullah Abu Thunaiyan, Deputy Minister of Labor for Inspection and Development of Work Environment, thanked the private sector firms for cooperating with the ministry in implementing its three month ban on working under sun from June 15 until September 15.
He also noted that inspectors from the ministry have detected 2,499 violations of the work ban during the period and that penalty measures were being taken against the violators, pointing out that violating companies face a fine of SR3,000 to SR10,000 per worker as well as closure for 30 days.
