Malaysian pilgrims

Madinah (IINA) – Hatem bin Jaafar Bali, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s National Adilla Establishment, hoped that other Islamic countries would emulate Malaysian Pilgrims Fund Board in the management of their Haj pilgrims, BERNAMA reported.
Hatem bin Jaafar Bali said Malaysian pilgrims managed by the Pilgrims Fund Board are the best in terms of discipline, compliance with regulations and understanding of the Haj rituals. It was because of that Malaysian pilgrims were found to be more focus in performing the pilgrimage.
"The preparations made by Malaysian Haj pilgrims is more systematic and proper and this helps make it easy for all quarters to manage them here," Bali told a press conference held here Thursday.
According to Bali, Malaysia tops the list of five countries with the best management for Haj pilgrims, followed by Brunei, Indonesia, Turkey and Iran.
As such, he hoped other Muslim countries would follow Malaysia’s lead in the management of their pilgrims.
On preparations for this year's Haj season, Bali said the National Adilla Establishment has opened 24 offices to ensure smooth service.
The responsibilities of Adilla Establishment, among others, are to provide transportation and accommodation for pilgrims, he added.
He went on to say that several measures will be taken by the Saudi government to improve facilities in the holy places to meet the arrival of Haj pilgrims for the coming season. They included temporary halt of demolition works in the vicinity of the Prophet's Mosque and opening of a new bigger airport in Madinah.
Bali expected about 1.2 million Muslims worldwide to gather on the holy land during the coming Haj season to perform the pilgrimage.
