New York (IINA) – The Arab League Council held a consultative meeting at the level of the foreign ministers at the UN headquarters in New York, under the chairmanship of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, chairman of the current session of the Council, and the participation of Secretary General of the League Dr Nabil Elaraby.
The meeting reviewed a range of issues on the agenda of the UN General Assembly and ways to coordinate Arab positions on them, according to a statement issued by the General Secretariat of the Arab League on Tuesday
The statement pointed out that the Palestinian issue and the escalating Israeli aggressions and violations on the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as on the Islamic and Christian holy sites in East Jerusalem were among top issues debated.
