Tirana, (IINA) - The Albanian Municipal Council of Tirana has recently approved naming the road in front of the Kuwaiti Embassy in Tirana “Kuwait Street” and it held the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, Albanian Telegraphic Agency reported.
The decision to rename the Kuwait Street came in as a recognition of the contributions made by the Kuwaiti Embassy towards Albania.
The Albanian Development Fund financed the rehabilitation and paving of the road, an initiative that was praised by the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Albania Najeeb Al-Bader who just finished his 4-year diplomatic mission term.
During the inauguration ceremony, the spokesperson of the Albanian Parliament Ilir Meta expressed his gratitude to Kuwait for the support in undertaking development projects in the social and cultural fields. He praised in particular the role played by the Embassy of Kuwait in all fields of common interest.
Meta also said that the bilateral relationships between Albania and Kuwait are excellent, noting that he is confident that cooperation between the two countries will deepen further due to the positivity and honesty of the two sides.
It is noteworthy that the Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj handed over the “Key of Tirana” to Al-Bader as a sign of gratitude for his embassy’s support to the Municipality of Tirana.
The Embassy of Kuwait was first established in 2011. Al-Bader is first Kuwaiti ambassador to Albania. He also just finished his 4-year diplomatic mission term.
It is also noteworthy that Al-Bader is the first ambassador to ever receive the gift of “Key of Tirana”.
