Riyadh (IINA) - Upon the orders of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Saudi Arabia has sent 180 tons of humanitarian aid to Albania, which was hit by floods early this year.
Four planeload of relief supplies are being dispatched to Albania. The first plane arrived at the Tirana International Airport last Wednesday. The hand-over ceremony was attended by Saudi Ambassador Ralat Salem Radwan and Bernard Brachi, Albania’s director general of emergency management. “The Kingdom decided to extend help and assistance to people affected by the floods that struck Albania last winter,” Radwan said. The assistance includes 3,800 food baskets, 900 tents and 4,000 blankets and mattresses.
The Saudi ambassador added that the Kingdom has provided support to Albania since the beginning of the 1990s through the funding of infrastructure projects. The Saudi envoy, who assumed his post in Albania in February this year, added that the Kingdom has also contributed to the implementation of many developments projects in the country.
