OIC chief, Bangladesh minister agree to boost bilateral cooperation

Jeddah, (IINA) - The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Madani received Md. Shahriar Alam, minister of state for foreign affairs of Bangladesh, at the OIC headquarters here on Tuesday. 
In a statement issued by the OIC, Secretary General Iyad Madani and Alam had useful and extensive exchange of views on various international and regional issues of common interest including combating radicalization and extremism, promoting science, technology and healthcare, and alleviating the sufferings of Rohingya Muslims.
Both sides agreed to remain engaged on mutual issues and strengthen bilateral cooperation through regular consultations at various levels.
On his part, Madani briefed the minister about the OIC, its priorities and forthcoming important summits and conferences. He also reiterated OIC’s interest to work closely with Bangladesh on common issues for mutual development and progress.
