Rabat, (IINA) – In a strategy to ensure citizens’ security in the country, Moroccan authorities arrested last Sunday over 1,000 criminals across the nation, Morocco World News reported.
Operations conducted by national police services last Sunday across the nation led to the arrest of 1,294 people involved in criminal acts, said national police body (DGSN).
These arrests concern suspects caught red-handed for different offences and crimes (1,048 people) and individuals with arrest warrants issued nationally for serious crimes as theft, assault and battery and drug trafficking (246 people), said the DGSN in a statement.
The same source added that these operations led also to the seizure of 32 knives, 1,045g of cannabis resin, 2 litters of liquid cocaine and 47 psychotropic pills.
These intense and ongoing operations are part of the DGSN’s strategy to ensure citizens’ security, protect their properties and preserve public order via the reinforcement of preventive measures to counter crime, it said.
