OIC Secretary General Iyad Madani

Jeddah, (IINA) - The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Madani, on Thursday congratulated the Muslim Umma on the occasion of 1436H Eid al-Fitr.
In a statement issued by the organization, the OIC Chief prayed to Allah, to reward Muslims for their fast, prayers and charity during the month of Ramadan and to bestow tranquility, peace of mind and tolerance on humanity at large.
Madani appealed to Muslims all over the world to internalize the spirit of Ramadan and portray the genuine character of Islam, its values, culture and civilization in the way they live their lives; and to provide a model for learning, productivity, social justice, tolerance, and active contribution to the intellect, progress and well-being of the world.
Madani called on the will, conscious and mind of Muslims to rid Islam and Muslim societies from the literal, narrow minded and astray voices that betray and smear Islam and equate it with extremism, violence and primitivism.
"Let us make this Eid a renewed beginning of who Muslims truly are, and what their vision for the future is," he added.
