DUBAI, (IINA) - Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in order to coordinate joint efforts to provide a safe and healthy environment for victims of trafficking abuse, and foreign workers who have suffered violations, WAM reported Sunday.
The MoU was signed by the Director General of Dubai Foundation for Women and Children Afra Al Basti, and Iman Younis Ereiqat, chief of mission of the (IOM) in Kuwait, to coordinate various efforts and activities, and exchange of documents and data, as well as to collaborate in conducting joint studies in the field of human trafficking.
"The IOM is one of the most important international bodies that work with Dubai Foundation for Women and Children in many joint areas, and the signing of this memorandum will be an important addition to both parties by enhancing their various community efforts," said Al-Basti.
The memorandum stipulates collaboration between both sides in the areas of shelter service and social and psychological care for women and children who are exposed to violence, family empowering and promoting relations, and developing the research about related social issues, and to promote community awareness to eliminate all forms of abuse through educational outreach.
