Djibouti (IINA) – The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) distributed on Wednesday Eid al-Fitr coupons to 400 Yemeni refugee families in Djibouti.
“This generous initiative comes within the humanitarian campaign aimed at alleviating the suffering of Yemeni refugees in Djibouti who have fled the ongoing war in their country,” said KRSC's Crises Management Coordinator Khaled Al-Mutairi.
He said in a statement to the International Islamic News Agency (IINA) that the distribution of coupons worth $100 will allow the recipient to buy clothes for Eid al-fitr from some well-known stores in the central market of the capital Djibouti.
Al-Mutairi added that KRCS launched last month a relief campaign to Yemen, containing 40 tons of medical supplies transfered to Al Mukalla city through Saudi Arabia.
He also stressed that Society will send over the next few days 200 tons of food aid, containing 10,000 food baskets to the port city of Aden through the Independent Port of Djibouti (DPI).
