Amman, (IINA) - Jordanian King Abdullah on Sunday met with the U.S. Special Envoy for International Energy Affairs Amos Hochstein.
During the meeting, the King stressed the importance of cementing cooperation between Jordan and the United States in the energy sector.
King Abdullah highlighted Jordan's efforts to address the energy challenge and go in for diversification through plans and programs aimed at providing alternative and renewable energy.
This would contribute towards strengthening the national economy and accelerating growth and development, the King noted, referring to the Kingdom's peace nuclear energy drive.
King Abdullah also received on Sunday the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tomas Vilsack. The talks at Al Husseinyieh Palace figured ways of boosting and developing bilateral relations in various sectors, especially agriculture, Abdullah stressed the importance of exchanging expertise between the two countries for mutual benefit.
The King thanked the U.S. government for new 100,000 tons of wheat grant to Jordan, an agreement for which will be signed during Vilsack's visit to the Kingdom.
In turn, Vilsack stressed his country's keenness to boost relations with Jordan in various sectors, especially in agriculture, praising the King's reform policies, which contributed to the Kingdom's progress and prosperity.
