Brunei Darussalam signs two OIC agreements

Bandar Seri Begawan (IINA) – Brunei Darussalam signed on Wednesday two agreements of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The agreements signed by Brunei Darussalam were the General Agreement on Economic, Technical and Commercial Cooperation among OIC Member States, and the Framework Agreement on Trade Preferential System among the OIC Member States.
Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Saudi Arabia and the Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam to the OIC General Secretariat, signed these agreements on behalf of the government of Brunei Darussalam at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah on Wednesday.
With the signing of these agreements, the number of signatories to the General Agreement on Economic, Technical and Commercial Cooperation has now risen to 48, while that of the Framework Agreement on Trade Preferential System now stands at 40 signatories. The above-mentioned agreements came into force on 28 April 1981 and 14 February 2002 respectively.
