Madinah (IINA) – The experimental operation of Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah has been postponed to April 12, after it was scheduled to start on April 5, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

A statement issued Saturday by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) stated that the postponement was decided due to the Saudi-led military campaign, labelled “Operation Decisive Storm” against Houthis in Yemen, which affected the air traffic in most of the Kingdom's airports, in addition to the CAGA’s keenness to achieve a complete and successful operational plan for the airport.

The airport will officially be inaugurated after a limited period of trial run, the statement added.
