Jaber border crossing

Amman, (IINA) – Jordanian authorities announced on Wednesday the closure of the strategic Jaber border crossing with Syria, "temporarily" following violent clashes on the Syrian side of the border.

Jordanian Interior Minister Hussein Majali told AFP “The closing of Jaber border crossing with Syria in front of movement of travelers and cargo transport came as a precaution to preserve the lives and safety of passengers, due to the violence taking place on the other side of the border of Naseeb town.”

This is not the first time that such action has been taken from the Jordanian authorities as the border with Syria have been temporarily more than once closed since the outbreak of the conflict in 2011.
