Rabat, (IINA) - Morocco will officially submit its candidature to host the 2026 World Cup as announced by the Moroccan Federation of Football, media sources reported.

According to media reports, the President of the Moroccan Royal Football Federation (FRMF) Faouzi Lakjaa discussed the matter with FIFA President Joseph Blatter in Zurich, Switzerland.

Morocco had previously tried to host the World Cup in 1994, 1998, 2006 and 2010 but they did not succeed to get this honor. But its seems this time, Morocco‘s candidature will have a huge support by FIFA president who recently met with the president of the Moroccan federation to discuss the matter.

In addition, Morocco’s chances to obtain the hosting rights of the prestigious sporting event will get better mainly because of the available infrastructure and the country’s expertise in organizing international competitions such as the FIFA Club World Cup in 2013 and 2014.
