Sudanese President Al-Bashir

Khartoum (IINA) – Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir called for combat against "regional" and "tribal" divisions, saying that he wanted to create unified, safe, socially advanced and civilized Sudanese nation, representing the overall goal of the country’s Comprehensive National Strategy for Development.

Addressing Sudanese youths at one of the public spaces in Khartoum as part of his election campaign, President al-Bashir said, “Sudan enjoys security and stability,” adding that his party platform aims at the establishment of peace.

He said the South Sudanese citizens fleeing the fighting in their country have taken refuge in Sudan, pointing out that his country has warmly greeted them, and did not blame them for a vote for secession.
