President Bashir: Administrative referendum is genuine right of Darfur citizens

Khartoum (IINA) – Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir said the voting in Darfur administrative referendum is a genuine right of the citizens in the region, affirming commitment to implementing their will, SUNA reported.
Addressing a mass rally in Nyala, capital of South Darfur State, President Bashir appreciated the high rate of voter registration that reached 3.5 million citizens, who will vote in the Darfur's upcoming administrative referendum.
He called on the citizens of Darfur to refrain from fanaticism, regionalism and tribalism, and to support the government program for collecting arms and to make the possession of arms confined to the regular forces only.
Bashir said that the state is keen to pursue its efforts to realize peace and support the programs for the voluntary return of citizens. He lauded the efforts of the Armed Forces and the other regular forces in eradicating rebellion and maintaining security in the region.
