OIC condemns terrorist attack on Istanbul

Jeddah, (IINA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) denounced Saturday’s explosion in Istanbul, Turkey, that killed five people and injured 36 others.
OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani expressed deep dismay about the recurrence of these kinds of terrorist acts in Ankara and recently in Istanbul.
He also condemned criminal groups, which target the security and stability of the Turkish people by derailing important and advanced steps taken by Turkey in developing and ensuring the progress and prosperity of citizens.
Madani also called on the Turkish government to identify the affiliations of these criminals who lack values and principles, and bring them to justice to be held accountable for their acts.
The secretary general also reiterated the principled position of the OIC against all forms of terrorism and the need for concerted international efforts to eradicate this phenomenon and come up with practical solutions to combat it and address its obvious and clandestine causes.
