Mauritanian president receives MWL chief

Nouakchott (IINA) – President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz received here on Wednesday Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) Sheikh Dr Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Turki, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
During the meeting, the Mauritanian president stressed the strength of the fraternal relationship between his country and Saudi Arabia, hailing the great efforts exerted by the Kingdom under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to unite Muslim ranks and fight against terrorism and extremism of all forms.
Ould Abdel Aziz emphasized the importance of the international scientific conference on the "Role of Sunni Scholars in Fighting Terrorism and Extremism," which is organized by MWL in collaboration with the Mauritanian Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, to increase awareness about the dangers of terrorism and extremism and clarify the true image of Islam and its principles of tolerance.
For his part, Dr Al-Turki thanked the president for his patronage of the conference and reiterated that King Salman focuses on the unity of the Islamic world on various occasions.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Mauritania Dr Hazza Al-Mutairi and Mauritanian Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education Ahmed Ould Ehil Daoud.
