Riyadh, (IINA) - GCC Secretary General Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani stated on Wednesday that GCC member states have decided to label Hezbollah as a terrorist group, Arab News reported.
He noted that the body took the action because of the hostile acts being carried out by elements of the organization, which included terrorist attacks, smuggling of weapons and explosives, inciting sedition, and flagrant violation of the sovereignty and security of nations.
Al-Zayani said Hezbollah militias were carrying out terrorist and subversive acts in Syria, Yemen and Iraq in violation of humanitarian values and international law, and were a threat to Arab security.
Saudi Arabia said on Friday it had blacklisted four companies and three Lebanese men for having links to Hezbollah.
“The Kingdom will continue its fight against the terrorist activities of the so-called Hezbollah with all available means”, the Saudi Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The move comes a week after Saudi Arabia suspended aid worth $3 billion to the Lebanese army over the Beirut government’s failure to sign up to statements condemning attacks on Saudi diplomatic missions in Iran.
The ministry identified the four companies as Vatech SARL, Le-Hua Electronics Field Co. Limited, Aero Skyone Co. Limited and Labico SAL Offshore, and the men as Fadi Hussein Serhan, Adel Mohamad Cherri and Ali Zeaiter.
