Tunis (IINA) – The Arab Interior Ministers Council on Wednesday strongly condemned the abduction of Qatari nationals in Iraq, calling on the Iraqi authorities to make every effort to ensure their safety and release.
Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported that the Arab Interior Ministers Council, in the final communique of its 33rd session, titled "Tunisia Declaration for Combating Terrorism," expressed unwavering condemnation of all forms and sources of terrorism. It also decried all acts of terrorism including those aimed at sectarian or racial minorities, perpetrated by radical organizations or sectarian militias.
The communique lambasted all forms of terrorism and its financing, affirming categorical rejection of all acts of blackmail, threats and extortion, practiced by terrorist groups to finance their crimes. It also called on all states to abide by relevant UN Security Council resolutions, declared the determination of Arab Council member states to pursue the fight against terrorism, tackle its causes, bolster inter-Arab cooperation in this regard, and uproot this peril.
The final communique also assailed "the state terrorism practiced by Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territories" and the recent attacks on the Saudi embassy and consulate in Iran, as well as maltreatment of Saudi diplomats and their families.
