Amman, (IINA) - At least 14 Palestinians have died and 36 were injured in a bus crash in southern Jordan, local media and medics reported, citing security officials.
Jordan's civil defence officials said the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle around 320km south of Amman and warned that the toll could rise, given the severity of the injuries, News24 reported.
The group had been heading to Saudi Arabia for the Umrah pilgrimage.
The Awqaf Ministry said in a statement it is closely following the situation and checking on the condition of the pilgrims and will provide all necessary support and assistance to the injured, Petra reported.
The number of death rose to16, a statement by the civil Defence Department (CDD) said Thursday.
