Rabat, (IINA) - Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Rachida Dati applauded Morocco’s recent efforts in the area of energy sustainability in a recent statement to the press, Morocco World News reported.
“To begin work in the first phase of the largest solar power plant in the world, Morocco has become the most innovative industrial strength in the African continent,” Dati said.
The former French Justice Minister continued, “This project will achieve a big dream for Morocco and for the world, thanks to the vision and the will of the King to make the Kingdom a leader in the energy field and sustainable development, through the promotion of energy independence for the Kingdom and the reduction of the use of fossil fuels.”
El Dati praised the strategic thinking and the good governance of the Moroccan government and the work of the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy.
“With this huge project, Morocco has become a model to follow and a global leader in the field of renewable energy, as well as an example to protect the planet and its peoples,” Dati said.
Morocco’s steady growth and political stability represent major factors in the country’s growing influence in Africa. Since 1999, King Mohammed has initiated major political and economic changes with a focus on renewable energy and sustainable development.
