Rabat, (IINA) - The Center for Research and Training in Interfaith Relations will be inaugurated on Wednesday at its headquarters in Rabat, Morocco World News reported.
Launched under the auspices of the Mohamedian League of Religious Scholars (Al Rabita al Mohammadiyya lil ‘Ulama’), the center will seek to outline their approach in building partnerships across belief systems, nationalities, ethnicities, age groups, and genders through research, training, and various other activities.
Canadian Ambassador Nathalie Dubé and Ambassador to the European Union Rupert Joy will be speaking alongside representatives from both organizations.
Under the theme “The Challenge of Mutual Recognition in Interfaith Relations,” they will work to promote a new perspective on interfaith engagement in Morocco and begin to create key partnerships, both locally and internationally.
Highlighting the importance of open dialogue, expert panels with representatives from varying religious and academic institutions will be discussing the important aspects of cultivating mutual recognition among people of different beliefs.
Spokespersons from Morocco’s Muslim, Jewish, and Christian communities will be participating on those panels, alongside professors from multiple universities including the International University Rabat, as well as various international organizations from search for common ground to Darb Maryam.
It is the aim of the center that these discussions will be a catalyst for a continued meaningful debate on interfaith issues facing a growing global community of differing beliefs.
