Amman, (IINA) - Jordan's Interior Minister Salamah Hammad on Tuesday discussed with Australian Attorney-General George Brandis and the accompanying delegation, means to boost cooperation between the two countries in the security and intelligence fields, and possibilities for Australia to host Syrian refugees, Petra reported.
The minister stressed, during the meeting, the importance of benefiting from the security and legal expertise of both countries to achieve stability in the region and fight all forms of crime.
Hammad highlighted the need to find a comprehensive political solution to the Syrian crisis, and spare the Syrian people more bloodshed and violence. He pointed to the impact of the Syrian crisis on Jordan and urged the international community to support the Kingdom to enable it to address the refugees' issue.
From his side, the Australian official hailed the role played by Jordan to host the Syrian refugees and provide them with humanitarian services.
