Hatay, Turkey (IINA) – A total of 10 temporary training centers will be set up for Syrian refugees in the town of Reyhanli near Turkey’s southern border, Anadolu Agency reported citing the local mayor.
The centers will be established with the cooperation of the Ministry of National Education, Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management, Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), and the Reyhanli Municipality, Huseyin Sanriverdi said Tuesday.
"There are currently 108,000 Syrians living in Reyhanli, and these centers will enable the school-aged children to continue their education," Sanriverdi said, adding that work was already underway to build the first of the prefab schools.
Turkey has adopted an open-door policy for civilians fleeing conflict in Syria and Iraq, with around 2.5 million Syrian refugees currently being hosted in the country.
