OIC chief to start Thailand, Malaysia visit today

Jeddah (IINA) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani is set to embark on a visit to Thailand and Malaysia from Sunday.
The Secretary General will arrive in Thailand, an Observer State of the OIC, where he will meet Prime Minister of Thailand Prayut Chan-o-cha. Madani will also attend an international conference on “Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence in Multicultural Societies”, co-sponsored by the OIC Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA) and the Thai government.
The event is expected to define and encourage scholarly perspectives in understanding and promoting multiculturalism and multi-faith coexistence.
During the visit to Malaysia, Madani will meet Malaysia's Prime Minister Najib Razak to discuss issues of mutual concern, including the peace process in the Southern Philippines and other regional developments.
