OIC chief Iyad Madani to visit Malaysia on Friday
Kuala Lumpur (IINA) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani will begin on Friday a three-day visit to Malaysia, BERNAMA reported.
Madani is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Najib Razak, the Foreign Ministry (Wisma Putra) said in a statement on Thursday.
"They are expected to discuss the current challenges facing the Muslim Ummah and the recent developments in the region," the statement said.
This is Madani's second visit to Malaysia after assuming charge at the helm of OIC. His first visit was on 14-16 April last year.
Wisma Putra said Malaysia, as one of the founding members of the OIC, has continued to play an active role in the organization in safeguarding the interests and well-being of Muslims worldwide.
