Tehran, (IINA) - Iran has revised its earlier allegation on Thursday, saying that Saudi jets struck near its embassy in the Yemeni capital city of Sanaa, DPA reported.
Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said a rocket had struck "near the Iranian embassy".
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Jaber Ansari sharply criticized the strike, saying that it severely injured one security official and that it was "a conscious and deliberate attack from Saudi Arabia", according to ISNA news agency.
"The alliance's air raids in Sanaa targeted rocket launchers by the [Houthi] militias", coalition spokesman Ahmed Asiri said, according to Saudi-owned broadcaster Al-Arabiya.
A DPA correspondent in Sana'a reported that the Iranian embassy building looked in good condition and had no signs of air bombing.
The White House spokesman Josh Earnest said that the US had seen conflicting reports about whether the embassy had been damaged, saying that it was investigating.
