Jerusalem, (IINA) - Four Israelis were recently charged over beating an Eritrean migrant who was mistaken for a Palestinian gunman during a militant attack last October, BBC reported.
Habtom Zerhom was first shot by a security guard at a bus station in Beersheba, and then he was kicked and beaten by a Jewish Israeli crowd as he laid in a pool of blood. He was later pronounced dead.
Officials said that a prison officer, a soldier and two civilians were charged with aggravated battery.
Mobile footage on October 18 showed an angry crowd surrounding Zerhom as he was lying injured on the floor, under a stool held over him by a member of Israeli forces. A set of chairs was then dumped on his head before he was kicked by the mob.
It is noteworthy that the total number of victims shot dead by Israeli forces since October 1, 2015 reached 151, including 27 minors. Israeli gunfire also injured 4,714 Palestinians over the same period.
