Jordanian king, US vice president discuss latest Mideast developments

Washington, (IINA) - Jordanian King Abdullah on Tuesday met here with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and discussed with him the latest developments in the Middle East, namely efforts to fight terrorism and extremism and Jordanian-U.S. cooperation in this regard, Petra reported.
The meeting dealt with the latest developments in Syria. In this context, the King emphasized the importance of finding a comprehensive solution to the Syrian crisis to end the suffering of the Syrian people.
King Abdullah and Biden discussed the situation in Iraq and stressed support for Baghdad's efforts in its fight against the terrorist Daesh group.
The talks also touched on efforts to revive Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations, based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions.
In addition to that, the meeting also discussed the projects Jordan plans to launch in areas of alternative and renewable energy.
