Beirut (IINA) – Russian warplanes have launched for the second straight day airstrikes in Syria, an opposition official said.
The strikes have targeted positions of the Jaish al-Fateh (Army of Conquest), a rebel alliance including Syria's Al-Nusra Front, in the north- western part of the country, Samir al-Nashar, a member of the West-backed Syrian opposition National Coalition, told DPA.
Russia’s President Putin justified his country’s entry into the conflict by saying that Russia was acting “preventatively, to fight and destroy militants and terrorists on the territories that they already occupied, not wait for them to come to our house” The New York Times reported Wednesday.
