Astana (IINA) – Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with his Kazakhstani counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev here on Thursday, TASS reported.
Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said that the meeting between the two presidents will precede the negotiations of delegations, after which several documents will be signed.
The meeting will also focus on the current regional and international issues. In particular, Putin and Nazarbayev will exchange opinions on cooperation between Moscow and Astana in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union and discuss the situation in Syria.
According to the Kremlin press service, value indicators in the Russian-Kazakhstani trade sank by 24 percent in January-June, mostly due to the devaluation of the ruble. At the same time, physical volumes of trade turnover decreased only by 2.3 percent, and Kazakhstan’s import to Russia has grown by 9.8 percent.
Putin’s visit to Kazakhstan will continue on October 16, where he will take part in the summits of leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
