ISESCO's Committee of Heritage in Islamic World to meet next week

Rabat, (IINA) - The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization's (ISESCO) Committee of Heritage in the Islamic World will hold its sixth meeting at its headquarters here on October 26-27.
The meeting will discuss recent international circumstances and how it affects heritage in the OIC member states. The meeting will preview ways to preserve the heritage under the current situations such as armed conflicts and wars taking place in the region. The meeting will also discuss ways of coordinating the mechanisms between international and regional organizations in order to protect the world's historic sites in general and the Islamic ones in particular. It will also propose providing material and technical assistance to carry out restoration works in some archaeological sites and preserve its historical identity.
The current list of member states participating in the meeting includes Jordan, Yemen, Sudan, Mali, Guinea, Republic of the Comoros, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Morocco and Palestine.
