Mogadishu (IINA) – The United Arab Emirates sent on Monday afternoon an air ambulance to transport the wounded in the blast at a security checkpoint near the gate of Somalia's presidential palace in the capital Mogadishu, which killed at least 10 people and injured several others on September 21.
At a press conference in Mogadishu International Airport, UAE Ambassador to Somalia Mohammed Ahmed Othman Al Hammadi said that his country transported the injured because they cannot be treated in Somalia.
He added that the UAE always stands by the Somali people and offers various development projects based on the brotherly relations between the two countries.
For her part, Somali Health Minister Hawa Hassan called on other countries to follow the UAE's lead in the provision of medical services to treat the wounded.
