ISESCO to participate in OIC meeting on countering terrorism

Rabat, (IINA) - The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) will take part in the meeting of the institutions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on countering terrorism and violent extremism, which will be held in Jeddah,  Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday.
The meeting will discuss a number of issues under five main topics namely, examining the root causes of terrorism and violent extremism; debunking terrorist organizations’ ideology and discourse; raising awareness of Muslim youth about their role in countering terrorism; discussing institutions’ activities in combating terrorism and violent extremism; and coordinating the work and positions of OIC organs in this regard.
ISESCO will be represented in this meeting by Dr Mustapha Ahmed Ali, supervisor of the directorate of external relations and cooperation, who will make a presentation on ISESCO’s educational, cultural and communication efforts in combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
