OIC Strongly Condemns Arson Attack on Palestinian Child by Extremist Settlers

Jeddah, (IINA) - The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned in the strongest terms the heinous crime committed by extremist settlers who attacked and burned a house in Nablus, West Bank, that led to the burning to death of a Palestinian child, Ali Dawabsheh, and the severe wounding of his family.
In a statement received by (IINA) on Friday, the OIC described this crime as “a dangerous escalation of terrorist acts” committed by extremist settlers under the protection of Israeli occupation army against the Palestinian people, their land and holy sites.
The OIC Secretary General, Iyad Ameen Madani, said “Israel, the occupying power, should be held fully responsible and accountable for the consequences of these mounting and systematic terrorist acts perpetrated by the extremist settlers in the occupied Palestinian territory”
The Secretary General called on the international community, particularly the permanent members of the Security Council and the states that continue to affirm their everlasting relationship with Israel, to assume their political, moral and humanitarian responsibilities and take immediate and concrete measures to stop these crimes perpetuated by Israeli occupation of Palestinian land. He emphasized the importance of following up the dossier of Israeli crimes and infractions at the International Criminal Court. 
Madani also expressed his hope that Jews everywhere are aware and taking note of the image being portrayed of Judaism, the great, divine, Abrahamic religion, by settlers’ terrorism and the violent extremism of the Israeli government. 
Also, the Secretary-General confirmed that the Secretariat is still striving to hold emergency Islamic summit asked upon the request of the Palestinian leadership to consider the serious developments in the Palestinian cause.
