Beirut, (IINA) - Lebanese Army received on Thursday a fresh batch of donated weapons and ammunition from China, The Lebanese Daily Star reported citing military statement.
The shipment was received during a ceremony attended by Brig. Gen. Manuel Kridgian representing Army Commander Gen. Jean Kahwagi, while China was represented by its Ambassador Jiang Jiang and his military attaché Yang Jun.
The donation comes two weeks after the army received another shipment of Chinese weapons, the type or quantity of which was not disclosed.
This shipment considered the latest in a series of arms deliveries to help Lebanon contain militants on its northeastern border with Syria.
The Army clashes on a near-daily basis with militants from Nusra Front and ISIS holed up in the border’s mountainous areas.
