Riyadh (IINA) – King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action said that a convoy of nine trucks carrying medicine and medical supplies launched by the Center arrived in Yemen’s province of Marib.
Spokesman for the Center Raafat Al-Sabbagh explained that the Center supervised over the preparation of the trucks and their trip to the provincial medicine warehouses and stores of the Ministry of Health in Marib
Al-Sabbagh said that a batch of five trucks, heading to Seiyun in Hadhramaut Governorate, set off on Thursday evening, pointing out that both batches of nine trucks were carrying a total of 145 tons, Akhbar Masr network reported.
He said that this convoy comes within the continued efforts of King Salman Center to help the brothers in Yemen, stressing the keenness of the Center to do its duty to alleviate their suffering.
In a related development, the Center concluded on Thursday a Suhoor and Iftar program, through which it had distributed 186,000 meals to Yemeni refugees stranded in Al-Wadia crossing, on the Saudi-Yemeni border.
Al-Sabbagh said the program, which ran throughout the month of Ramadan, distributed Suhoor and Iftar meals, consisting of different types of food, beverage and dairy, to the Yemenis in Al-Wadia crossing, at a rate of 6,000 meals a day. He indicated that the distribution process was conducted under the direct supervision of a specialized team from King Salman Center for Relief, through its branch office in Al-Wadia, in implementation of the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.
The Center spokesman stated that the programs allocated for assisting the stranded Yemenis will continue after Eid al-Fitr until the crisis is over.
