Friday 17 Jul 2015 - 15:01 Makkah mean time-1-10-1436 Sighting the new moon (Google image) Rabat (IINA) – The Moroccan Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs announced that the first day of Eid al-Fitr will be Saturday. The ministry issued a statement saying that it monitored the appearance of the new moon of Shawwal 1436H at sunset on Thursday. However, the sighting of the crescent was not proved. Consequently, Eid al-Fitr, which is the beginning of the month of Shawwal, will be tomorrow Saturday, July 18. AB/IINA
