Rabat (IINA) – Moroccan Justice Minister Mustapha Ramid announced that his Ministry will install surveillance cameras in courts to “combat false witnesses”, Morocco World News reported.
Ramid, who was speaking Tuesday at a session of oral questions in the House of Representatives, announced his Ministry's intention to act with “firmness” against people who give false testimonies in Moroccan courts.
The minister said perpetrators will be identified in the near future with the help of surveillance cameras that will be installed in courts. He added that 427 people were prosecuted for perjury in 2012, against 374 in 2013.
