 Jeddah (IINA) - Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has instructed all the concerned government and private departments and agencies to make all preparations to enable pilgrims and visitors to the two holy mosques to perform their rituals in ease and comfort during the holy month of Ramadan.
Chairing the weekly session of the Council of Ministers at Al-Salam Palace here on Monday, the King reviewed a report on the operational plans of various departments and agencies for the fasting month. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Culture and Information Adel Al-Turaifi said the Cabinet denounced the continuing policy of racial discrimination and ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. It reiterated the Kingdom’s stand that the issue should be addressed in the framework of the resolutions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the United Nations as well as the principles of universal human rights.
The Cabinet also condemned the attempts to destabilize the security and stability of Bahrain. It commended the Bahraini security authorities for foiling a terrorist plot involving foreign terror groups aimed at undermining the country’s security and stability. The Cabinet also emphasized the importance of concerted efforts to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Al-Turaifi said the Cabinet thanked the King for his directive to treat the citizens, who sacrificed their lives in order to foil terror attack targeting worshippers at Al-Hussein Mosque in Dammam’s Al-Anoud district, as martyrs and to award them the Medals of Bravery.
The Cabinet commended the ability of the security forces in repelling attacks in Jazan and Najran regions from across the Yemeni side. It noted that the security forces have confronted the firing of mortar shells by the enemies courageously and destroyed their equipment and mechanism.
