Washington (IINA) – U.S. State Department spokesman Jeff Rathke on Monday said that the coalition countries exercised restraint during the truce that lasted five days despite the continued Houthi shelling of the Saudi territories, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Rathke's remarks came during the daily press briefing in response to a question about the Houthis' responsibility for not extending the truce.
“The Houthis shelled the Saudi territory several times during the truce and the Saudi-led coalition exercised restraint during the ceasefire that enabled the entry of food, fuel and humanitarian aid to Yemeni citizens,” he said.
