Saudi FM Adel Al-Jubeir
Riyadh (IINA) – Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir said that the Kingdom is in the process of establishing a unified center on its territory to coordinate all efforts of aid provision to the Yemeni people between the United Nations and the concerned humanitarian organizations, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
“In order to achieve the objectives of aid delivery to the Yemeni people, the Kingdom is in the process of establishing a unified center on its territory to coordinate all efforts of aid provision between the United Nations and the concerned humanitarian organizations, as well as the states willing to provide aid to the Yemeni people. This measure would include enabling the United Nations to deliver aid worth $274 million donated by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman,” Al-Jubeir said in a statement on Monday.
He pointed out that within the framework of continuation and enhancement of humanitarian relief efforts in Yemen, Saudi Arabia is in the process of consulting with the coalition members defending the legitimacy in Yemen and all countries supporting the coalition, in order to determine specific zones where humanitarian aid to be delivered.
He added that all air operations would cease at specific times in these areas to allow the delivery of this aid in line with UN Security Council resolution no. 2216.
Meanwhile, Al-Jubeir warned the Houthi militia and its allied forces of exploiting the cessation of air operations in these areas, or of preventing access of aid to these areas or attempting to take advantage of these areas to achieve their goals.
The Foreign Minister stressed that the Kingdom will deal with any violations by resuming airstrikes against any aggressive actions that hamper these humanitarian efforts.
