Jeddah (IINA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the consensus reached by the participants in the Yemeni National Dialogue Conference, held in Riyadh and their adoption of the "Riyadh Declaration" document.
OIC Secretary General Iyad Madani expressed the Organization’s backing for the ‘Riyadh Declaration’, which reaffirms support to the constitutional legitimacy in Yemen; rejects the coup staged against its symbols; reaffirms the principle of national partnership; underlines the need to start rebuilding the institutions of the Yemeni State and calls for the launching of comprehensive national reconciliation.
Madani invited all Yemeni parties to begin the implementation of Riyadh Declaration. He also called on the OIC member states and civil society organizations to provide humanitarian relief to the affected areas in Yemen and contribute to reconstruction of the country.
