ISESCO, IINA launch cooperative program to counter extremism speech

Rabat (IINA) - The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the International Islamic News Agency (IINA), affiliated organs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), signed here at the ISESCO headquarters a five-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation relationship in various media fields.
Dr Ahmed Said Ould Bah, director of external relations and cooperation at ISESCO, and Zayed Sultan, the editor-in-chief at IINA, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.
The MoU provides for promoting cooperation between the two institutions in organizing meetings, workshops and training sessions and preparing news reports, studies and researches in the fields of media and communication for the member states and Muslim communities and minorities across the world.
In addition, the MoU also states on the development of cooperation in the field of training mechanisms, and strengthening the role of media in spreading the values of mercy of Islam, and counter the extremism speech and hatred, and pay attention to the phenomenon of Islamophobia and how to sort it out.
